The lines in the field show a great repetition across the photo. They lead the eyes back and forth and make you notice the rows.

This photo shows repetition by showing all the blue sheets in a pattern. It draws your eyes to notice the lines inside the photo.

The Blues
Performers rehearse for the opening ceremony of the 6th National City Games in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei province. The sporting meet will begin on Oct. 25 in Wuhan.

The repetition in this photo is the seats with the screens on them. It leads the eyes straight down the middle.

Multimedia

A. What skills in addition to photography did Melanie Burford utilize to produce this slideshow?

She had to get up close with everyone, and enter their life. She had to establish a personal connection with them.

B. What was the effect (added power or meaning) of the multimedia effects of the slideshow.

It shows how strong everyone had to be through this time, and the struggle that they faced in these times.

I really enjoyed the interactive map it set up a good guideline to everything and was very informative.

1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get close, capture real moments, and capture action or emotion? How did you deal with these?

While shooting i found it hard to set up a shot i thought was good, i worked very hard on my composition and using the rule of thirds. I just found good unique places to shoot.

2. What technical aspects of photography (focus, exposure, composition) did you find yourself thinking about the most, and how did you make sure you did these correctly?

I worked very hard on getting the perfect angle and focus for my shot. I made sure the shot looked good before i took it.

3. Describe how you attempted to use at least one of the advanced composition techniques when you shot.

I tried real hard to use the rule of thirds in all my pictures.

Sports

Focal Length of Lens: Canon EOS-1N, EF 400mm f/2.8L USM,
Shutter Speed: shot at 1/1000
Aperture: 4.0 seconds

The photographer had to be standing close to the field, on the sidelines perhaps. He definitely had to be close though.

This shows a photo without merging so it is very easy to see and understand.

This picture shows the use of framing and balance, It is very balanced and fills the frame.

This photo shows wonderful use of lines to focus on an object.

This picture shows the rule of thirds very well and it shows simplicity too.

Made print!!!!!

Well first we took our negatives and put them into the enlarger. To do this you must first lift the part that holds the tray and then put the negative you want into the tray. Then you must find the right height of the enlarger by moving it up or down to fit the frame, while doin this set the light to the highest setting to see the image. After fitting the light image turn the light down and put the photo paper into the frame. To get the best aperture u can cover 3/4 of the picture and then transfer the image uncover the next fourth and do it again continue until it is finished. Then you can check to see which is best, now redo this but dont cover the picture and just transfer the picture then put it through the developing process and its done.

B&W Masters

This picture is amazing, it was taken by Carleton Watkins. I love the scene shown in this photo its so beautiful. It shows such a still life but with action.

B&W Masters

This photo was taken by Manuel Alvarez Bravo, of course this is a candid picture. The action is self explanatory, but the picture is great it shows alot of emotion. And it makes you think about life.

B&W Masters

This photo is by Roger Fenton, it shows great candid action. The people are in mid action and are not posing. He caught this photo perfectly.

Negative Critiques

For the first negative i would choose would be number 20a, this photo shows good candid action. I caught a picture of zack looking between 2 girls faces. It doesnt fill y=the frame too well but i like the action. The focus is pretty good, but the composition could use some work.
For the second negative i would choose 23a, i caught alot of people in one shot but there is focuz=s on one girl. Once again the composition is a little bad but the candid action is wonderful. The girl in the photo is smiling but its not posed.

Filling the Frame

I think that this photo fills the frame quite well. Its not just the main object im focusing on, its both objects. The cup fills half the frame and the face fills the other half. There is no other space.

Action and Emotion

This photo shows alot of action, the fire and candid movements create a great sense of action. The fire can even be construed as a the emotion of the photo.

The Story

I think this one tells a story just through its image. The book gives a sense of bein in a story, then the girl in the back could be involved in some way. To me it expresses a story of knowledge and learning.

03 Fall Winner Adv BW still life

I like this picture, the lighting effects are really good. The dark image with the lights on the chair add a great detail in the photo. I love how much this picture makes me think, its so odd. I really respect the composition of this picture its very set up but i feel like its still candid.

Pinhole review 2

I really dont like this photo, its just not interesting. There is no people or anything interesting just 2 blurry cars. I just really dont care for this picture at all. It looks very nice but i dont see anything i like other than the quality of the photo itself.

Pinhole review

this picture has a great setup to it. Its a little out of focus but there is no people in it, but it still shows action. the picture seems like its still but with action its weird. i think the parts that are out of focus add to the eerieness of the photo. All in all i really like it.

This picture does not take up the frame at all. There is still plenty of space. There isnt much action in it either, but its still candid.
I like this picture i think it gives a good sense of candid action. It also fills the frame very well, its a little unfocused but its probably from the movement but overall very good picture
